I am strongly supporting Rep. Kay Khan in her reelection effort to the Legislature. On many important issues, Kay has been there for the residents of Newton and I have had the opportunity to see first-hand how responsive and effective she has been on behalf of all of us.
When I was working to protect the Flowed Meadow Conservation area, Kay was there to help restore this natural resource back to its original beauty. The Flowed Meadow area (almost two miles) is now a valuable and beautiful piece of conservation land that walkers, joggers and bikers enjoy as part of the MDC River Walk beginning in Auburndale and extending all the way to downtown Boston. Creating this project was a daunting challenge. Kay’s knowledge of how to work with the city and state helped us create this beautiful connection to nature that families and individuals can enjoy for years to come.
As I continue to work on the Newton 9-11 Memorial, to honor the eight Newton residents who were killed in the terrorist attack of 9/11, Kay has been a strong and immediate supporter. Kay took valuable time from her schedule to tape a public service announcement and she has written many letters of endorsement, helping to bring awareness to the Newton 9-11 memorial.
I have seen Kay’s effectiveness as our state representative many times and I am proud to give her my support in this campaign. On many issues important to Newton residents, Kay works for us. Her experience, knowledge of state and local government, and commitment and accessibility to her constituents has earned my respect and that of many people across the district. On issues that have made a difference in our quality of life, Kay has been a successful advocate who gets successful results.
I hope you will join me in supporting Rep. Kay Khan for reelection.
